IATS (International Air Travel Surveys)

The IATS Global Media Surveys are some of the largest multi-national media surveys in the world.

IATS has been carried out every two years since 1986 in Europe, Asia and Australasia.  In 2005, IATS was extended to the Middle East, Africa & Latin America to create the first "global" media survey.

IATS 2007 will increase the number of sample points to extend the geographical coverage even further.

The IATS Global Media Survey worldwide database comprises a sample of tens of thousands of respondents resident in almost every country in the world and provides global readership and TV audience data for all the major international media.

The two main IATS travel surveys are -

  IATS Global Media Surveys:

  • syndicated surveys measuring the media consumption of international air travellers in various regions of the world.

  IATS Duty Free Shopping Surveys:

  • both syndicated and ad hoc surveys measuring the purchasing of duty free products in the world’s airports and on ferries.
